The Tokyo eSports Festa 2026<\/strong>, an annual large-scale event hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Japan eSports Association,\u00a0will be hosting a\u00a0Street Fighter<\/strong>\u00a06<\/strong>\u00a0tournament on January 10 next year. While most of the\u00a0event\u2019s\u00a0regulations are standard, one of the more interesting rules prevents the use of\u00a0select characters\u2019 swimsuit skins<\/a>\u00a0(as spotted by\u00a0Game*Spark<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the\u00a0official tournament rules<\/a>, the\u00a0banned costumes in question are\u00a0Outfit 4\u00a0color variations of Chun-Li, Kimberly, Manon, A.K.I., and Cammy,\u00a0all of which feature the female fighters in\u00a0revealing swimwear.\u00a0Seeing as the tournament allows elementary school-age children aged\u00a0six\u00a0and upwards to participate\u00a0(as long as their guardians are present), the rule might have been made to maintain a wholesome, family-friendly environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It should be noted that while the female swimsuit costumes aren\u2019t allowed, Luke\u2019s and Jamie\u2019s swimsuit costumes are perfectly tournament-worthy. Likewise, some of Street Fighter 6\u2019s other revealing female costumes, such as Juri\u2019s open-chest Outfit 3 and basically all of Mai Shiranui\u2019s costumes save for her Outfit 2, are also good to go. Then again, the event overview states that the rules may be changed at the organizers\u2019 discretion, so there is a possibility that additional costumes will  be banned before the tournament takes place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
