To commemorate the big announcement, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.falcom.co.jp\/sora2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">special teaser website<\/a> has also gone live as of today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u300e\u7a7a\u306e\u8ecc\u8de1 the 2nd\u300f\u30c6\u30a3\u30b6\u30fc\u30c8\u30ec\u30fc\u30e9\u30fc\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oppfnY4LjmM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is a full-fledged 3D remake of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC, the second mainline entry in Falcom\u2019s classic turn-based RPG series. The game is a direct sequel to Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, continuing the story of Estelle\u2019s journey through Liberl as she tries to uncover the secrets of Ouroboros while also searching for her partner Joshua who mysteriously disappeared after the big \u201cplot-twist\u201d that the first game\u2019s finale hits us with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As disclosed by Nihon Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo in one of his <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/if-trails-in-the-sky-1st-chapter-doesnt-get-a-sequel-our-fans-will-go-youve-got-to-be-kidding-me-nihon-falcom-ceo-on-future-releases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">interviews <\/a>with AUTOMATON, Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter was being developed in parallel with the 1st chapter remake, and it was only a matter of time before it got announced. And while there was a two-year gap between the releases of the original FC and SC, this time, as Kondo noted, they wanted to \u201cavoid such a long gap,\u201d announcing the new game only a couple of months after Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter officially launched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/20251218-550910001.jpg\" alt=\"Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter gameplay.\" class=\"wp-image-55095\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/20251218-550910001.jpg 768w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/20251218-550910001-380x214.jpg 380w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On a related note, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, the series\u2019 first 3D remake, debuted as Nihon Falcom\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/trails-in-the-sky-1st-chapter-debuts-a-nihon-falcoms-most-successful-steam-release-to-date\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">most successful Steam release to date<\/a> with the highest record of concurrent players, surpassing <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/trails-in-the-sky-1st-chapter-saw-the-biggest-response-on-steam-nihon-falcom-ceo-says-the-steam-demos-impact-was-enormous\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">even the expectations of the developers themselves<\/a>. With an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on the platform and a Metascore of 88, the game has been showered with praise for its improved gameplay and graphics, and a longer, fleshed-out story that manages to stay true to the original narrative.
