Inc. have released an extensive list of the changes they made to the original game on its<a href=\"https:\/\/scarlet.tales-ch.jp\/remastered\/\"> official webpage<\/a>. Amidst the sea of welcome adjustments (the increased default walking speed and more intuitive HUD icons are much appreciated), it seems that some sections will use the \u201ccensored\u201d content featured in the international version of the original game, as opposed to the \u201cuncensored\u201d Japanese version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that spoilers for Tales of Berseria follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Tales of Berseria Remastered - Announcement Trailer\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LrgChQAkLCA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As spotted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespark.jp\/article\/2025\/11\/20\/159682.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Game*Spark<\/a>, the example given by the game\u2019s website features the scene where Laphicet, a young malak child who serves as the game\u2019s deuteragonist, is impaled by Artorius Collbrande. While the original Japanese version showed the scene in its full, uncensored state, the international version shows Laphicet getting attacked by a cross-shaped beam of magical energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/20251120-541470001.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54156\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/20251120-541470001.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/20251120-541470001-380x214.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/20251120-541470001-768x432.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Back when Tales of Berseria released in 2016, Bandai Namco altered several scenes in the international version to keep its Pan European Game Information (PEGI) 16+ rating.
