A reporter by profession, Alyssa is unlike&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/resident-evil-requiems-decision-to-scrap-leon-kennedy-as-a-playable-character-shows-the-franchise-is-finally-stepping-away-from-hardened-and-stoic-protagonists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Leon Kennedy<\/a>, Claire&nbsp;Redfield,&nbsp;or Jill Valentine \u2013 all of whom have some experience in firearms and combat.&nbsp;While Alyssa underwent combat training post-<a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/resident-evil-requiem-why-bringing-raccoon-city-back-to-the-mainline-franchise-is-a-good-idea\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Raccoon City&nbsp;Incident<\/a>, her constant search for the truth made&nbsp;her&nbsp;easy&nbsp;to introduce&nbsp;as a protagonist.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe\u00a0reason why\u00a0we chose Alyssa was because she was just a victim of the Raccoon City incident.
