Talking to&nbsp;local outlet&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.inven.co.kr\/webzine\/news\/?news=311368\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Inven<\/a>, he shared his&nbsp;future plans&nbsp;for a \u201csecond rebirth\u201d of FFXIV.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Yoshida,&nbsp;with&nbsp;FFXIV&nbsp;having&nbsp;entered&nbsp;its&nbsp;second&nbsp;decade of operations, the development team has some significant announcements prepared, and&nbsp;the&nbsp;idea behind them is&nbsp;(based on machine translation)&nbsp;\u201crethinking&nbsp;everything from&nbsp;scratch.\u201d&nbsp;Yoshida explains that,&nbsp;with players\u2019 disposable time&nbsp;dwindling&nbsp;in recent years, FFXIV&nbsp;will&nbsp;have&nbsp;to adapt to their needs&nbsp;and desired playstyles.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMMORPGs are a genre built&nbsp;around investing lots of time, so&nbsp;I think&nbsp;they&nbsp;don\u2019t&nbsp;fit very well into today\u2019s era. There&nbsp;are&nbsp;already&nbsp;many&nbsp;long-time veteran players who are ahead of everyone else,&nbsp;and catching up to them requires enormous time investment,&nbsp;which many people simply&nbsp;can\u2019t&nbsp;manage.&nbsp;I think&nbsp;it&#8217;s&nbsp;unfair&nbsp;that&nbsp;a player&nbsp;can&#8217;t&nbsp;experience the fun unless&nbsp;they&nbsp;invest hundreds of hours.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1527\" height=\"854\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1527px) 100vw, 1527px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/20251118-54024-002.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54028\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/20251118-54024-002.jpg 1527w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/20251118-54024-002-380x213.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/20251118-54024-002-768x430.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Still, Yoshida thinks MMORPGs have room to continue&nbsp;thriving,&nbsp;if&nbsp;they&nbsp;change. \u201cI want to hear how long players&nbsp;can stay logged in, and what kind of play they&nbsp;actually do&nbsp;once they log in. The game needs to adapt to that.\u201d&nbsp;Through future updates in FFXIV,&nbsp;Yoshi-P&nbsp;aims to give players \u201csomething to look forward to each time you log in, and satisfaction that matches&nbsp;the&nbsp;expectations.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While FFXIV is already designed to allow short and incremental playing sessions, Yoshida wants to&nbsp;make&nbsp;the way it works even more intuitive.
