Silent\u00a0Hill f\u00a0is a psychological horror game developed by\u00a0NeoBards\u00a0Entertainment and published by Konami.\u00a0Silent Fear: Last Stop<\/strong>,\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0other hand,\u00a0is\u00a0a mobile game for iOS devices developed by\u00a0one\u00a0Khail Al Yamama, and\u00a0from the looks of\u00a0things,\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0bootleg\u00a0ripoff.\u00a0The title’s store\u00a0page\u00a0uses\u00a0screenshots from the\u00a0original\u00a0game,\u00a0as well as\u00a0what looks to be\u00a0AI-generated\u00a0art for its logo and one “in-game” image\u00a0(as spotted by\u00a0Game*Spark<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u00a0doesn\u2019t\u00a0take a professional to see that Silent Fear: Last Stops\u2019s logo\u00a0art\u00a0is\u00a0very likely\u00a0an AI-generated image inspired by\u00a0artist\u00a0kera<\/a>\u2019s iconic cover art for Silent Hill f. While Silent Hill f\u2019s art shows\u00a0Hinako slowly being infected<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0red spider lilies, the girl in Silent Fear\u2019s logo seems unaffected\u00a0by the red splotches that are slowly coming her way.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two of the\u00a0\u201cgameplay\u201d\u00a0images\u00a0used to advertise the game\u00a0are direct screenshots from YouTube channel\u00a0MKIceAndFire\u2019s playthrough of Silent Hill f<\/a>\u00a0(you can clearly see part of their watermark on the lower right-hand side\u00a0of the iPad screens).\u00a0Icons that are normally used in third-person mobile games\u00a0were photoshopped over the screens\u00a0to\u00a0give\u00a0the illusion that\u00a0the game\u00a0(which\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0even the one being advertised)\u00a0is running on an iOS device.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last and only \u201coriginal\u201d image is a seemingly AI-generated art piece that depicts Silent Fear\u2019s protagonist at a cash register (on the customer\u2019s side, no less).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also known as Last Stop: Silent Terror on the Japan App Store<\/a>, Silent Fear: Last Stop puts you in the shoes of a convenience store clerk working the night shift at a \u201cnearly deserted gas roadside travel plaza.\u201d The game supposedly begins with you completing a series of mundane tasks before introducing more supernatural phenomena as the night progresses. Though the images, logo, and character design are inspired and\/or lifted from Silent Hill f, Silent Fear: Last Stop\u2019s narrative seems to take cues from Chilla\u2019s Art\u2019s indie game The Convenience Store<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Featuring vague descriptions\u00a0such as\u00a0\u201cshort but intense gameplay,\u201d \u201cminimalist but effective controls,\u201d and \u201cunique visual style and pacing,\u201d Silent Fear: Last Stop\u00a0retails\u00a0for $4.99 USD on the App Store. What\u2019s\u00a0interesting is that the game has been out since October 2, exactly one week since Silent Hill f was released.\u00a0Whether Konami has learned about Silent Fear\u2019s existence\u00a0remains\u00a0unclear, but\u00a0its\u00a0days are probably numbered.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
