Bandai Namco recently announced its financial results for the first half of the fiscal year ending March 2026, including a breakdown of revenue by IP<\/a>. Among them, the Mobile Suit Gundam<\/strong> franchise saw unprecedented growth, with total revenue in the past six months (around $826 million) nearly reaching 2024\u2019s full-year total ($997 million), as reported by Otaku Soken<\/a>. This placed Gundam far ahead of the company\u2019s other flagship IPs like Dragon Ball and One Piece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of note, Bandai Namco has significantly revised its annual sales forecast for the Gundam franchise to account for higher-than-expected performance. The company now anticipates annual revenue to reach approximately $1.5 billion, up by over 40% from the original forecast. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Mobile<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Bandai Namco attributes the growth to the strong performance of high-end toys such as Gunpla and collectible figures, the positive reception of the new Mobile Suit Gundam GquuuuuuX anime (produced by Evangelion\u2019s Studio Khara), and the Gundam Next Future Pavilion exhibited at Osaka Expo 2025. The company says the \u201csynergy\u201d created by these projects is what drove revenue from related products and services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s also worth mentioning that SD Gundam G Generation Eternal, a new mobile game released in April, has been massively popular. Global revenue exceeded $200 million<\/a> within the first five months of launch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
