While gamers were busy testing out their Air Ride machines during the first two days of the event, it was brought to light that the upcoming title has likely been developed in Bandai Namco Studio\u2019s new in-house game engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/KirbyAirRiders?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#KirbyAirRiders<\/a> Global Test Ride features a series of Lessons to teach you how to play, City Trial (online), and Air Ride (offline). Ultimate. But what\u2019s interesting is that this time, the game seems to be using Bandai Namco Studios\u2019 new in-house engine SOL-AVES. As pointed out by one of our readers, James McWhirter, the SOL-AVES engine logo can be found listed within the Intellectual Property Notices for the Kirby Air Riders demo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"900\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/20251110-537450001.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-53748\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/20251110-537450001.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/20251110-537450001-380x214.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/20251110-537450001-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/20251110-537450001-1536x864.jpg 1536w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Bandai Namco Studios filed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trademarkia.com\/sol-aves-79369433\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the trademark <\/a>for SOL-AVES in December 2022, which was registered in September 2024, and is currently looking to expand the development team for the engine. Looking at their <a href=\"https:\/\/bandainamcostudios.snar.jp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recruitment page<\/a>\u2019s job listings, the engine (referred to as \u201cour in-house engine\u201d) is described using keywords such as \u201chighest visual expression\u201d and \u201cdeepening the gaming experience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/bandai-namco-is-still-working-on-new-in-house-game-engine-update-reveals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">previously reported<\/a> that Bandai Namco Studios have been actively working on an \u201cunnamed in-house engine\u201d that would be capable of large-scale development, including open-world games. The project was initially announced in 2022, which seems to line up with the timing of SOL-AVES getting filed as a trademark.
