According to Spencer, the company considers the Japanese market \u201ctruly special,\u201d a sentiment it\u2019s working on conveying to players through efforts like the recent Japan-themed DLCs for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and other first-party titles.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of note, Spencer mentions that &#8220;total Xbox playtime in Japan has increased by around 20% in the past year.&#8221; This figure represents the whole Xbox ecosystem, including console, PC and cloud. While he doesn&#8217;t offer a detailed breakdown, Spencer says that the growth is well-balanced across all three platforms. \u201cIf I had to point out one thing, it seems to me that the importance of PC is increasingly growing for our Japanese players. Furthermore, the fact that console, PC, and cloud are all growing aligns with our strategy of wanting players to enjoy Xbox regardless of device.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1594\" height=\"887\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1594px) 100vw, 1594px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/20251024-53296-001.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-53300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/20251024-53296-001.jpg 1594w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/20251024-53296-001-380x211.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/20251024-53296-001-768x427.jpg 768w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/20251024-53296-001-1536x855.jpg 1536w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To further boost their market share in Japan, Microsoft plans to provide more content tailored for Japanese players. On the flip side, Spencer also mentions close collaboration with Japanese developers. \u201cWe have very unique relationships with companies like Capcom, Konami, Square Enix, Sega, and Bandai Namco Entertainment.\u201d Following the release of Koei Tecmo and PlatinumGames\u2019 Ninja Gaiden 4, Microsoft is also set to publish Kojima Productions\u2019s OD.
