As AUTOMATON WEST, we\u2019ve been keeping a close eye on the Japanese video game market and all of the people who keep it in motion \u2013 which is why we mustn\u2019t forget that gamers are an equally important factor in that conversation. Thus, we decided to start the reader poll series, in which we will directly approach our Japanese readers with a topic in gaming and share their opinions, insights and interesting takes with our overseas readers.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And what better way to do it than to take advantage of our Japanese parent site to ask readers about their preferred gaming platform. In an X poll, we asked gamers to choose among four listed platforms (PC, PS or Xbox, Nintendo Switch, mobile) and tell us about the ones they used the most and the reason behind it. More than 10,000 users participated in the poll, and to our surprise, the results ended up being way more biased to PC gaming than anyone expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before we move on to the poll results, please note that our X survey is not representative of the whole Japanese population, nor is it intended to be a reliable source of statistical data. The poll only serves to give insight about peoples\u2019 general preferences and initiate discussion.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
