Ryuki Ishii<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Aniplex and Sega announced that the total worldwide shipments (including digital sales) for <em><strong>Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles<\/strong> <\/em>surpassed one million units. The game recently launched for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam) on October 14 in Asia, and on October 15 in North America\/Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Hinokami Chronicles <\/em>is a videogame adaptation of the hit manga\/anime series <em>Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba-<\/em>. The game is published by Aniplex in Japan, and by Sega in Asia, Europe, and North America. CyberConnect2, the company behind numerous videogame adaptations of Jump manga IPs, handled the development. It is made in Unreal Engine 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles | Launch Trailer\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2GwgwdPBej0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The game includes single-player Adventure Mode and online\/offline Versus Mode. The Adventure Mode lets you relive the anime\u2019s story as Tanjiro. This mode includes episodes from season 1 to the movie <em>Mugen Train. <\/em>In Versus Mode, you get to play as your favorite characters in 2 vs 2 matchups with up to 2 players. Since the game is based on the anime series, and not the manga, available characters are limited. However, a couple of characters including Rui and Akaza had been added via updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Famitsu\u2019s game software sales ranking (which mainly covers physical editions) for the week ending October 17, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.famitsu.com\/ranking\/game-sales\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> that the PS4 version of the game sold 94,849 units in Japan. The game debuted at No.11 on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamesindustry.biz\/articles\/2021-10-18-fifa-remains-at-no-1-for-third-consecutive-week-uk-boxed-charts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UK boxed retail charts<\/a> for the week ending October 16, which is not a bad start. The Steam user review status is \u201cVery Positive\u201d with over 3,000 reviews submitted at the time of this writing.
