The two ports are set to launch simultaneously on November 13. In the meantime, RGG Studio is also working on the brand new-title Stranger Than Heaven (previously known as \u201cProject Century\u201d) and a new Virtua Fighter project.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the Nintendo Direct announcement, RGG Studio\u2019s technical director Yutaka Ito checked in on his personal X account to share a comment about the team\u2019s development style. \u201cRGG Studio\u2019s programmers work on new releases, ports and remasters in one team. It\u2019s completely normal here for one person to be working on 3 or 4 titles at the same time, but other people in the industry get quite surprised when they hear about it. If I\u2019m in charge of a certain minigame for one title, I\u2019ll also be in charge of it for another title. This is how we categorize tasks across different projects. If a certain type of minigame involves a lot of physics work, one person will be in charge of them across all projects. If there\u2019s AI, one person will handle AI in all projects. As projects move along vertically, everyone is crossing over from one to the other horizontally.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although this has been RGG Studio\u2019s way of doing things since the Yakuza series\u2019 early days, it seems it\u2019s still unusual enough to earn surprised reactions from industry peers. According to executive producer Masayoshi Yokoyama\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/like-a-dragons-dev-team-size-has-barely-changed-since-the-first-game-according-to-rgg-studio-head\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">comments from this year<\/a>, RGG Studio counts around 300 staff members, and around 70 to 80 people generally work on Like a Dragon games during the studio\u2019s busiest periods. Apart from the internal team dedicated to the Super Monkey Ball series, all other staff members move around freely between different franchises based on need, including working on multiple titles at once. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1341\" height=\"756\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1341px) 100vw, 1341px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250804-50686-001.jpg\" alt=\"Yakuza Kiwami 2\" class=\"wp-image-50693\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250804-50686-001.jpg 1341w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250804-50686-001-380x214.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250804-50686-001-768x433.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Although it\u2019s uncommon in the industry, it seems this approach to development has been beneficial to RGG Studio, as they have barely felt the need to upsize their workforce throughout the Yakuza series\u2019 history. With additional work style reforms and a focus on simultaneous worldwide releases, they have also <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/like-a-dragon-dev-says-simultaneous-worldwide-multi-platform-releases-helped-reduce-crunch-culture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">seen crunch culture decrease<\/a> rather than intensify throughout the years.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Nintendo Switch 2 versions of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sega.com\/like-a-dragon-yakuza\/yakuza-kiwami\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Yakuza Kiwami<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sega.com\/like-a-dragon-yakuza\/yakuza-kiwami-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Yakuza Kiwami 2<\/a> are scheduled to launch on November 13.
