While the game will be making a stylistic<a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/the-silent-hill-series-has-leaned-more-heavily-into-western-style-horror-in-recent-entries-but-silent-hill-f-will-be-a-return-to-japanese-roots-dev-say\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> departure from the direction<\/a> of previous titles, returning fully to its Japanese horror roots, it will also switch things up when it comes to gameplay. Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto and Silent Hill f director Al Yang recently talked to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespark.jp\/article\/2025\/08\/01\/155659.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Game*Spark<\/a> about why they decided to shift towards more action-focused gameplay with the new title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Silent Hill f - Release Date Trailer | PS5 Games\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CAjCy94hUFI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Okamoto explains that, while his goal for the Silent Hill 2 remake was to maintain the appeal of the original, he wanted to take a different approach with Silent Hill f. \u201cInserting more entertaining and thrilling action into Silent Hill f was an idea I had ever since the early phases of the development. And, since NeoBards Entertainment is a company that\u2019s tremendously good at making action games, this is also one of the reasons why we decided to choose them as the developers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250805-506760001.jpg\" alt=\"Silent Hill f.\" class=\"wp-image-50678\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250805-506760001.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250805-506760001-380x214.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/20250805-506760001-768x432.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Silent Hill series isn\u2019t considered a game that has entertaining action per se, but as we\u2019re opening our doors to new players, we began to wonder what it would be like if we added more of those elements into the game.\u201d Okamoto explains that, with Silent Hill f, his team is aiming to create a game that will be appealing to younger generations as well, which is why they decided to make action one of the highlights of the game. \u201cChallenging action games are gaining popularity among younger players nowadays, so I believed that if we implemented such elements into the game, it would resonate well even with people who are new to the series,\u201d he notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yang added that another reason for putting emphasis on actions was to avoid making \u201cclones\u201d of previous Silent Hill games. \u201cWe didn\u2019t want to end up recreating Silent Hill 2 over and over again, and we were aware that there was no reason to keep making clones of it. On the other hand, since many of the previews we\u2019ve seen so far don\u2019t showcase spoilable content like exploration and puzzles, this could be what\u2019s making the game\u2019s focus on action seem more pronounced than it actually is.
