Hiroyuki Kobayashi, current CEO of GPTRACK50 and former Capcom veteran responsible for producing hits like Devil May Cry<\/strong> and Dragon\u2019s Dogma<\/strong>, has been teasing a mysterious new \u201c3D action RPG\u201d for the past couple of years \u2013 and finally, it seems like he\u2019s ready to announce it this year. In a joint interview with Famitsu, Kobayashi revealed that the game is already in the voice recording phase, and that his studio is making preparations for the big reveal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhile I can\u2019t reveal any details yet, everything is going as planned. In our New-Year\u2019s greeting card for 2025, I said I wanted to announce it by the end of the year, and as a man of my word, I want to keep that promise. We\u2019ve already entered the second half of the year, but rest assured that our studio is already preparing to make the announcement. As for how far development has progressed, we\u2019re about to enter the voice recording phase.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kobayashi says that, while featuring some RPG elements, his upcoming game will be heavily action-based. However, he insists on calling the game an \u201caction RPG\u201d rather than just an action game as he doesn\u2019t want to give false hope to fans expecting something like Devil May Cry again. \u201cI used to refer to the project as an action game, but there were many people expecting it to be something like Devil May Cry because I\u2019m involved in it. It\u2019s not a good thing to give people the wrong idea of what to expect, so I ended up calling it an action RPG.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kobayashi has actually brought this point up in pas interviews too, suggesting that this mysterious new game is going to be nothing like the previous titles he\u2019s worked on<\/a>. Some of his peers have even called it \u201cnot Kobayashi-like\u201d \u2013 and apparently, for good reason. Kobayashi explains that<\/a> with this title, he is aiming to convey something completely new, while still sticking to a classic action game framework. He has also stressed that the game will not be a soulslike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re already entering late July as of writing this article, and with only around 5 months left till the end of the year, it seems like the big reveal of GPTRACK50\u2019s first game is going to happen any time soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
