Keika Hanada, head of NOVECT and the author of Fata Morgana and Code Name M, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hanadakeika\/status\/1942889806650134868\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote on his X account<\/a> that he just finished writing one of the big scenes in the game \u2013 promising his fans that they\u2019ll be in for a masterpiece when the new game is released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The new game is very different from Fata Morgana\u2014brighter tone, different characters and world, and not a love story. You get to be the detective trying to get to the bottom of a serial murder case in downtown Tokyo. However, you\u2019ll also have to be the one to plan out all the murder scenes and execute perfect crimes \u2013 the killer is also you. While Hanada admits the story Code Name M is taking on a completely different direction from the emotionally charged supernatural suspense Fata Morgana was, he exclaims that the big portion of the story he finished writing ended up reminding him of Fata Morgana\u2019s Final Door. Apparently, the game is supposed to be so huge that the developers have spent around 7 years working on it \u2013 and<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hanadakeika\/status\/1940958288776196571\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> according to Hanada<\/a>, it\u2019s still in development. With that much volume packed into it, and with it still holding on to some of the sensibilities of Fata Morgana while introducing completely new characters and worldbuilding, Hanada promises his fans that the new game is going to blow them away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"New Trailer for Project Code M at Anime Expo 2025\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nf-sUBvVdP8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On a related note, it was announced at Anime EXPO 2025 that the English localization for Project Code Name M will be handled by AksysGames, a publisher who worked on localizing some of the titles for the Guilty Gear and Zero Escape series, among many others. While the release date has not been decided yet, the fact that NOVECT already struck a deal with a big localization studio means that the game could be out much faster than we think. Hamada <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hanadakeika\/status\/1941003270773969401\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">also said<\/a> that the official title and logo for Code Name M have also been decided and that the team is just waiting for the right timing to show them to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Project Code Name M (working title) is set to release for the PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
