In the past fiscal year, the company posted an operating loss of 12.57 billion yen (over $87 million USD) and a net loss of 12.64 billion yen. Revenue was down 7% year-over-year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deficit margin has widened significantly compared to the previous fiscal year (April 2023 to March 2024), when Square Enix Ltd. reported an operating loss of approximately $50 million, and a net loss of roughly $47 million.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2024, the European and US branches of Square Enix underwent restructuring, with an undisclosed number of employees in publishing and IT positions being laid off (source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamedeveloper.com\/business\/report-square-enix-to-lay-off-employees-in-american-european-offices\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Game Developer<\/a>).
