In 2012, Grasshopper Manufacture teamed up with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (now Warner Bros. Games) for overseas publishing of Lollipop Chainsaw, and according to Yasuda, the US publisher had a positive influence on the game\u2019s development.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI learned so much from working with Warner Bros. on the development of Lollipop Chainsaw, especially when it came to publishing,\u201d Yasuda <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/yasudaD5\/status\/1939836381066666377\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">writes on X<\/a>. Apparently, the producer was especially impressed by the company\u2019s QA (quality assurance) approval process. He says that trying to meet the standards of Warner Bros.\u2019 QA lead \u2013 a certain Mr. Mario \u2013 was both a challenging and \u201ceye-opening\u201d experience for him.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1212\" height=\"700\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1212px) 100vw, 1212px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/20240719-34179.jpg\" alt=\"Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP\" class=\"wp-image-49602\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/20240719-34179.jpg 1212w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/20240719-34179-380x219.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/20240719-34179-768x444.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Specifically, Warner Bros. took issue with the design of Juliet, Lollipop Chainsaw\u2019s protagonist, deeming it \u201cnot cute enough.\u201d This led to the dev team refining her design over and over, all the way until the game\u2019s master build was completed. \u201cThe Japanese side kept working to make Juliet a strong, sincere, and lovable heroine. I think she became such a beloved character thanks to Warner Bros.&#8217; dedicated support, and I\u2019m truly grateful for that,\u201d Yasuda comments.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Naturally, advocating for a cuter Juliet is not all Warner Bros. did, as the publisher was also responsible for bringing Hollywood filmmaker James Gunn on board as a scenario writer. Lollipop Chainsaw\u2019s US-side producer Scott War also <a href=\"https:\/\/spong.com\/feature\/10110695\/Interview-A-Dream-Come-True-Working-on-Lollipop-Chainsaw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">helped make sure Suda51 got to realize his original vision<\/a> without being impacted by Western norms.
