Following <\/a>a successful fiscal year ending March 2025<\/a>, Ninja Gaiden and Nioh developer Koei Tecmo Games is expanding its development capacity. The company announced that it has acquired floors 5 through 9 of the East Tower of the Yokohama Symphostage complex. Located across Koei Tecmo\u2019s existing headquarters in\u00a0Yokohama City, the new office space set the company back roughly $173 million USD. This comes after Koei Tecmo announced plans to double its workforce to 5,000 employees<\/a> and lean further into AAA development.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Koei Tecmo’s official statement<\/a>, the floors were acquired to “further expand the development system and create an attractive work environment where employees can maximize their creativity.\u201d The new development hub will include \u201ccutting-edge, environmentally-friendly technologies\u201d as well as a large floor space that fosters communication between staff members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given Koei Tecmo\u2019s recent<\/a> <\/a>refocus on creating high-quality AAA games in favor of mobile titles, it’s likely that the new offices will be occupied by\u00a0the company\u2019s console and PC game development staff.\u00a0Koei Tecmo isn’t the only Japanese developer that’s upsizing its operations, as Capcom also recently announced plans to open two new development bases in Osaka<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
