Nihon Falcom has published its financial results<\/a> for the first half of the fiscal year ending September 30, 2025. During the six-month period between October 2024 and March this year, the developer saw ordinary profit decline sharply, dropping by 82.5% compared to the same period last year. At 90 million yen (approximately $608 thousand USD), the company is at only 7.5% of its full-year profit target, which is, according to Kabutan<\/a>, much lower than its average progress rate of 40%.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sales: 604 million yen (down 40.3% year-on-year) 
Operating profit: 73 million yen (down 85.4% year-on-year) 
Ordinary profit: 90 million yen (down 82.4% year-on-year) 
Net profit: 44 million yen (down 87.6% year-on-year) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nihon Falcom cites an extraordinary loss<\/a> related to the farewell ceremony of late chairman Masayuki Kato<\/a> as a contributor to the lower-than-expected figures. However, despite results for the first half of the year being significantly lower than initially forecast, Nihon Falcom has not changed its targets for the full year, citing that annual sales are weighted towards the second half of the fiscal year, particularly the last quarter.\u00a0The original full year forecast is conservative too, however, with targets across all metrics slightly lower compared to the previous fiscal year’s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, Nihon Falcom will release Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter (launches simultaneously worldwide on September 25), as well as the English versions of <\/em><\/strong>The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon and <\/em>Ys vs. Trails in the Sky.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on the first-half results and the company’s unchanged full-year forecast, Kabutan<\/a> estimates that Nihon Falcom\u2019s ordinary profit for the second half of the fiscal year (April to September 2025) will rise by 52.3% compared to last year, reaching 1.11 billion yen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
