Capcom has published a revision<\/a> of its earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2025. Although the company\u2019s performance had been weaker during the first three quarters<\/a> of the fiscal year (Capcom had only achieved about 50% of its annual target<\/a> by the end of January), it now expects to not only meet its original (already ambitious) forecast, but to surpass it across all metrics \u2013 achieving record high sales and profits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revised targets are as follows: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sales: 169.6 billion yen (previously 165 billion yen) 
Operating profit: 65.7 billion yen (previously 64 billion yen) 
Ordinary profit: 65.6 billion yen (previously 63 billion yen) 
Net profit: 48.4 billion yen (previously 46 billion yen) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although these latest adjustments are relatively minor, they come after Capcom had less than three months to catch up with the remaining 50% of its original performance targets. It goes without saying that Monster Hunter Wilds\u2019s release in the fourth quarter was the key factor in Capcom\u2019s strategy \u2013 and it delivered, selling over 10 million copies by March 31. To put into perspective just how big Wilds was for Capcom, the company\u2019s net profit in the fourth quarter (January to March 2025) was up 190.0% year-on-year, and sales were up 75.8% year-on-year (source: GameBiz<\/a>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from the performance of new titles like Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom also cites strong worldwide sales of popular past titles and steady performance of its amusement business (arcades etc.) as driving factors of the upwards revision.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result, Capcom expects the fiscal year to wrap up with sales and profit metrics at a record high. Compared to the previous year, sales are up 11.2%, operating profit is up 15%. and net profit is up 11.5%. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
