With the release of the new official Pok\u00e9cology<\/a> book on June 18, 2025, Pok\u00e9mon fans will be able to learn about how different Pok\u00e9mon cohabitate in the wild.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike a regular Pok\u00e9dex that provides general knowledge and battle tactics for Pok\u00e9mon, The Pok\u00e9mon Company\u2019s Pok\u00e9cology book focuses more on their relationship with the environment and other Pok\u00e9mon. Relevant topics include Pok\u00e9mon eating and sleeping habits, hibernation periods, and migration patterns \u2013 to name a few. As complex as some of these topics are, The Pok\u00e9mon Company ensures that the book will contain easy-to-understand explanations so that even young readers will appreciate it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s interesting about Pok\u00e9cology is that while The Pok\u00e9mon Company is listed as the official author, the book is written by Yoshinari Yonehara and illustrated by Chihiro Kinoshita \u2013 two University of Tokyo graduates with PHDs in veterinary behaviorism and ecology employed by the company. Yonehara has been credited for his work on Pok\u00e9mon Violet, Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet, and Pok\u00e9mon Legends Acreus, while Kinoshita<\/a>\u2019s illustrations have been used in a variety of children\u2019s books focused on animal ecology. With their expertise, it seems we can expect some uniquely academic insights into Pok\u00e9mon behavior in Pok\u00e9cology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pok\u00e9cology is set to release on June 18, 2025.
