Nakayama is an established Japanese animator, having worked on a number of major titles including Jujutsu Kaisen and Kill la Kill. He is best known for directing the 2022 TV anime adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto\u2019s Chainsaw Man, which was his debut title as director.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1266\" height=\"713\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1266px) 100vw, 1266px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/20250411-46950-header.jpg\" alt=\"Chainsaw Man\" class=\"wp-image-46952\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/20250411-46950-header.jpg 1266w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/20250411-46950-header-380x214.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/20250411-46950-header-768x433.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After wrapping up work on Chainsaw Man\u2019s season one at MAPPA, Nakayama established the independent animation studio Andraft in 2023, and became chief creative officer at Studio Mayflower in 2024. I\u2019m the director, but it was my first time working on a game, so it was both challenging and exciting.\u201d Nakayama says that he\u2019s intentionally pushing for a Japanese aesthetic in The Inn, which you can immediately tell from the game\u2019s trailer video. It seems to be set in a traditional Japanese inn, with yokai-like monsters coming at you as you explore spooky randomly generated rooms.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Nakayama, The Inn\u2019s release is coming soon.
