One of the important details mentioned was that the new console will be compatible with microSD Express cards for external storage. On the flip side, conventional microSD cards will not be supported (with the exception of loading screenshots and videos).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Nintendo Switch 2 \u2013 Overview Trailer\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9flte56erE8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The good side of this change is that microSD Express cards have far greater read and write speeds than standard ones. The not-so-great news is that they are expensive and less widespread. As a result, it hasn&#8217;t taken even a single day for scalpers to latch onto them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespark.jp\/article\/2025\/04\/03\/151070.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Game*Spark<\/a> reports that most online retailers in Japan have already sold out of microSD Express cards. Instead, the Switch 2-compatible memory cards are appearing in large numbers on Amazon and local e-commerce platforms.
