Monster Hunter and Street Fighter developer Capcom published a new message<\/a> from its chairman and CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto on April 1. Tsujimoto looks back on the company\u2019s achievements and lays out some of its short- and long-term goals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the end of the previous fiscal year (April 1, 2023 \u2013 March 31, 2024), Capcom celebrated 11 consecutive years of growth in terms of operating income, as well as record highs across all profit indicators for the seventh year in a row. Ever since fiscal year 2021, the company\u2019s target has been to achieve +10% growth in operating income per year \u2013 a goal they will continue to pursue going forward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Monster<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the 2010\u2019s, Capcom focused on redirecting its efforts to digital sales and improving its support for PC gaming. Such initiatives have contributed to the company\u2019s operating income increasing by more than five times over the past 10 years. Tsujimoto also attributes the growth to Capcom possessing a wealth of popular IPs and technical knowledge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the topic of IPs, Capcom launched <\/strong>Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, a brand-new AA title during this fiscal year, which unfortunately missed sales targets despite receiving positive reviews<\/a>. At the moment, Capcom’s success is largely carried by new entries to existing IPs (as well as super strong catalogue sales<\/a>), but it will be interesting to see how they tackle launching new IPs from now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for its future strategy, Capcom plans to strengthen its sales data analysis for more precise marketing and further sales expansion, as well as investing in movies, esports and licensing. Currently, Capcom is co-producing a film adaptation of Street Fighter with Legendary Entertainment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
