Now fans&#8217; hopes that this was hinting at a new game have been confirmed, not only by the creator himself, but also by Spike Chunsoft announcing a new Somnium Files game exactly one year later. <strong>No Sleep For Kaname Date \u2013 From AI: The Somnium Files<\/strong> is due for worldwide release on Switch and PC on July 25, 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"No Sleep For Kaname Date - From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES \u2013 Nintendo Direct 3.27.2025\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YM2lVJkq0dg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Known for writing VNs and adventure games like the Zero Escape and AI: The Somnium Files series, Uchikoshi is renowned for his plot-twist heavy stories. He also puzzles players outside the games too. For those who missed it, around the end of March last year, Uchikoshi had fans scratching their heads with <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/ai-the-somnium-files-writer-updates-cryptic-message-potentially-teasing-a-sequel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a series of bizarre posts on X.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first, posted on March 28, 2024, featured a garbled string of Japanese characters and a video clip of a glitched-out screen, echoing the Somnium Files\u2019 sci-fi near-future setting. He followed this up with a coded message in alphabet on April 1. X user @Broken__Bee was quickly able to <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Broken__Bee\/status\/1774697760899424381?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">decipher<\/a> that the coded message \u201ceaxqedcnrpnawnycapxkp glzdsmnnhdhvrshggcmxv\u201d could mean \u201cim being overwatched by the authorities right now.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"683\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/20250328-46224-001.png\" alt=\"Iris Sagan in No Sleep For Kaname Date From AI: The Somnium Files\" class=\"wp-image-46230\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/20250328-46224-001.png 1200w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/20250328-46224-001-380x216.png 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/20250328-46224-001-768x437.png 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it seems that this was more than a weird April Fool&#8217;s joke. Today, on March 28 2025, Uchikoshi reposted the glitched-out video with the Japanese text from last year. Fans quickly alighted on the fact that he was repeating the same post on the same date. In the post below, Uchikoshi quickly replied with \u201cSame date, to save Date&#8230;\u201d, punning on the name of Somnium Files\u2019 protagonist- the police officer Kaname Date.
