Even if you secure staff for a year, you can only make one season.<\/em>\u00a0<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/koni_ko222\/status\/1903741664143040564\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kotani explains<\/a> that the professional shortage is worse than it was ten years ago, when animators were expected to work overnight and on Sundays. Even if an animation studio were to secure enough skilled staff for a year to work on a modern anime series such as <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/new-gundam-co-produced-by-evangelions-studio-khara-rakes-in-598-million-yen-in-three-days-taking-top-spot-at-box-office\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX<\/a>, Kotani estimates that this would yield only one season of high-quality animation. As such, it is still common for animators to give up sleep and holidays to work overtime.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While there are a lot of willing animators, Kotani says that there are only a few who specialize in layouts and key animation. As such, many animation studios tend to reach out to amateur artists active on the Internet. According to her, the expectation arose from the presence of different factors.
