In the mood for some retro mech customizing and battling? FromSoftware has just made the first three Armored Core games available on PS4 and PS5. Armored Core (1997), Armored Core: Project Phantasma (1997) and Armored Core: Master of Arena (1999) were all originally released on the Sony PS1, meaning that it is quite hard to get hold of the original discs nowadays – especially for players outside Japan (source: FromSoftware<\/a>\/Playstation Blog<\/a>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

PS4 and PS5 owners who subscribe to PSN Plus Premium can play these titles for no extra charge as part of the Classics Collection from March 18 onwards. Good news is that if you don\u2019t have a PSN subscription, you can still purchase and download each game from the PlayStation Store. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest entry in the series, 2023\u2019s Armored Core IV: Fires of Rubicon surpassed Fromsoftware\u2019s expectations<\/a> in terms of sales performance. With its realistic graphics, fast-paced fire fights and online battles attracting some extremely dedicated hardcore players,<\/a> the Armored Core series has come a long way since its beginnings. Those who wish to check out the series\u2019 PS1 origins can now easily do so on PS4 and PS5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
