Set to release on iOS and Android, <strong>Suikoden STAR LEAP<\/strong> is the franchise\u2019s first mobile RPG. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While many fans were happy to see Suikoden getting a new entry after all these years, some seemed disappointed to find out that it\u2019s a F2P mobile game. However, Star Leap\u2019s creators emphasize that the game is being designed to play like a fusion of mobile and console gaming.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u300e\u5e7b\u60f3\u6c34\u6ef8\u4f1d STAR LEAP\u300f\u30c6\u30a3\u30b6\u30fc\u30c8\u30ec\u30fc\u30e9\u30fc\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/G8AlHXZ98mI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Talking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.famitsu.com\/article\/202503\/34239\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Famitsu<\/a> in a recent interview, Suikoden Star Leap\u2019s producer Shinya Fujimatsu and director Yoshiki Takeyama provided some insights into the new game. Fujimatsu mentions that Star Leap\u2019s development is being supervised by Konami\u2019s Takahiro Sakiyama, who has been the director of the Suikoden IP since 2003\u2019s Suikoden V.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on Konami\u2019s choice to add a mobile game to the Suikoden franchise\u2019s repertoire, Fujimatsu says \u201cwe want as many people as possible to come in contact with the series, so we chose to make a mobile game as it is the most accessible platform.\u201d On the other hand, he stresses that since the goal is to attract new users to the IP, the developers are making sure Star Leap inherits \u201cthe soul\u201d of Suikoden and are working on it with the mindset of making a new numbered entry.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This includes incorporating the series\u2019 balance of light and serious themes, the tempo of its battles, and careful depiction of the new 108 stars (recruitable characters) and their relationships.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"975\" height=\"547\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 975px) 100vw, 975px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/20250305-45218-001.jpg\" alt=\"Suikoden Star Leap\" class=\"wp-image-45222\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/20250305-45218-001.jpg 975w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/20250305-45218-001-380x213.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/20250305-45218-001-768x431.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Another key point of Star Leap\u2019s development, according to Fujimatsu, is the fusion of mobile and console gaming. The development team\u2019s goal is to deliver visuals, sounds and a story comparable to that of console games, but paired with the accessibility of mobile titles. Another element of mobile gaming to be incorporated into Star Leap is collecting characters though a gacha system and adding them to your party. You will be able to form a party with characters from different eras, giving the game an \u201call-star\u201d feel.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Star Leap is being treated as a full-fledged new installment to the series, its events will be part of the Suikoden series\u2019 official history.
