Korean game company Dynamis One is under police investigation on charges of leaking an undisclosed game project owned by Nexon Games, Korean media reports<\/a>. Dynamis One was founded by former Nexon staff who were involved in the development of Blue Archive. In September 2024, they announced a new game titled Project KV, which was abruptly cancelled<\/a> after receiving backlash for its resemblance to Blue Archive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 24, Korean police conducted a search and seizure at Dynamis One\u2019s offices. Examination of the seized data revealed that the company\u2019s executives illegally ran off with an unreleased game\u2019s development data after leaving Nexon Games. As a result, CEO Park Byung-Rim and other key figures of Dynamis One have been indicted on charges of violating the Unfair Competition Prevention Act. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dynamis One was founded in April last year by core Blue Archive development staff after their departure from Nexon Games. Their first game, Project KV, was cancelled only a week after its initial announcement, as users accused it of plagiarizing Blue Archive\u2019s setting, visuals and worldbuilding. The new reports of the police investigation suggest that Project KV, or parts of it, belonged to Nexon Games. The project was originally titled MX Blade, and Dynamis One\u2019s staff have been accused of \u201csystematically leaking key information\u201d about it leading up to their resignations from Nexon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigation is currently looking into whether the stolen data was used by Dynamis One in game development. Nexon Games has called the act a \u201cserious crime\u201d and says it intends to take firm action. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
