Following the success of Bloober Team\u2019s Silent Hill 2<\/strong> remake, the Polish game studio announced in a press release<\/a> that it will be continue its collaboration with Konami. A new joint project based on an existing Konami IP is in the works, although Bloober Team hasn\u2019t revealed which Konami game franchise it will be working on.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After selling 1 million copies worldwide in its first three days of release<\/a>, the Silent Hill 2 remake played a major role in increasing Konami\u2019s quarterly profits in the latter part of 2024<\/a>. As of January 2025, the game has sold over 2 million copies. The Silent Hill 2 remake was also the recipient of multiple game awards, such as IGN Japan\u2019s Game of the Year 2024, Horror Game of the Year at The Horror Game Awards, and Ultimate Game of the Year at the Golden Joystick Awards.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno, the success of Silent Hill 2 \u201claid the foundation for signing another agreement for a new project\u201d between Bloober Team and Konami. He also mentions that the agreement \u201caligns with Bloober Team\u2019s strategic plan to expand its internal development division within a first-party framework.\u201d As Bloober Team is an independent game studio, that last statement could hint at its desire to work with more first-party game studios to expand its repertoire.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the final section of the press release, Babieno confirmed that Konami will be both the publisher and rights holder of the resulting game. Whilst official details are scarce, this won\u2019t stop horror and Konami fans from guessing which IP Bloober Team will be tackling next.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
