For example, he\u2019s talked about <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/in-like-a-dragon-pirate-yakuza-in-hawaii-rgg-studio-painstakingly-resurrects-another-arcade-game-thats-never-been-ported-before\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">how making remasters is harder than it seems<\/a>, and has even revealed <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/sega-saturns-fighters-megamix-has-a-hidden-stage-that-was-kept-secret-all-this-time-due-to-an-unfortunate-bug\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">secret programming mishaps from 30 years ago<\/a>. But most recently, Ito made a brief comment on stereotypes associated with game programming as a profession, as well as RGG Studio\u2019s stance on them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a post from February 25, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/YutakaIto_RGG\/status\/1894275843767111711\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ito comments<\/a>, \u201cGame programming is still associated heavily with science majors and men, but at RGG Studio, that\u2019s not the case at all. We have people from the humanities field on board, and we have a lot of women on board too. Recently, the number of female programmers in lead positions has increased too.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1340\" height=\"750\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1340px) 100vw, 1340px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250225-44768-001.jpg\" alt=\"Akame in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name\" class=\"wp-image-44772\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250225-44768-001.jpg 1340w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250225-44768-001-380x213.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250225-44768-001-768x430.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Ito links a new article by Japan\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asahi.com\/thinkcampus\/article-120249\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Asahi News,<\/a> which interviews Riho Ishiyama, a programmer with five years of experience working at Sega. Ishiyama was originally from the liberal arts field, with a major in business, but got interested in game development and started learning Unity and making games independently. With her portfolio, she landed a job at Sega, and after a year-long training regimen (more about how that looks <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/interviews\/like-a-dragons-programmers-publicly-shared-some-of-infinite-wealths-source-code-as-a-message-to-aspiring-programmers-we-ask-them-about-the-unprecedented-decision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in our interview with Yutaka Ito<\/a>), she became a full-fledged programmer at the company. In her fourth year, Ishiyama saw her own mini-game implemented in 2024\u2019s Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and in her fifth year, she was assigned as leader of the studio\u2019s asset control team.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1261\" height=\"703\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1261px) 100vw, 1261px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250225-44768-002.jpg\" alt=\"Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth Party members\" class=\"wp-image-44773\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250225-44768-002.jpg 1261w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250225-44768-002-380x212.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250225-44768-002-768x428.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Like a Dragon\u2019s technical director has been devoting a lot of his online activity to busting myths surrounding his profession. For example, he\u2019s even publicly shared some of Infinite Wealth\u2019s source code online with the goal of showing people that making AAA games isn\u2019t based on some kind of secret, inaccessible knowledge, and has talked about programming being something anyone can learn.
