In just 24 hours post-launch, the demo attracted over 200 reviews, 99% of which were positive at one point, earning the game an Overwhelmingly Positive status on Steam. At the time of writing, reviews total over 300, with 97% being positive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-: Story Trailer (English)\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JNrgeoTWplU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is a story-driven tactical RPG developed by Too Kyo Games and Media Vision. Co-directed by Danganronpa creator Kazutaka Kodaka and Zero Escape series creator Kotaro Uchikoshi, the title puts players through \u201c100 days of war and despair\u201d at the Last Defense Academy. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As protagonist Takumi, an ordinary teenager, you suddenly get drafted into the Last Defense Academy\u2019s Special Defense Unit alongside 14 other students. You are tasked with warding off freakish monster invaders and keeping the school safe for the next 100 days.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250220-329137-001.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44617\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250220-329137-001.webp 1280w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250220-329137-001-380x214.webp 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250220-329137-001-768x432.webp 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hundred Line\u2019s free demo lets you experience the prologue and story up to the 7<sup>th<\/sup> day. So far, it has received glowing reviews from players in Japan, China and the West, but the reviews themselves have been somewhat amusingly vague, as people are having trouble describing what they loved so much.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is partly due to the fact that the game is very reliant on its story, so detailing what you like about it equals spoiling the game for others. As a result, both impressions on social media and Steam reviews have been oddly curt as players look for ways to praise the game while dancing around spoilers. Having played and loved the demo myself, I\u2019d like to contribute to the pool of mysterious reviews by saying: It\u2019s good. Trust me.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy\u2019s demo is <a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/3386470\/The_Hundred_Line_Last_Defense_Academy_Demo_Ver\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">out now on Steam<\/a>.
