{"id":44428,"date":"2025-02-18T13:52:36","date_gmt":"2025-02-18T04:52:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/?p=44428"},"modified":"2025-02-18T13:52:38","modified_gmt":"2025-02-18T04:52:38","slug":"assassins-creed-shadows-parody-game-yasuke-simulator-to-launch-on-same-day-as-ubisofts-title-complete-with-historically-accurate-gta-style-mayhem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/assassins-creed-shadows-parody-game-yasuke-simulator-to-launch-on-same-day-as-ubisofts-title-complete-with-historically-accurate-gta-style-mayhem\/","title":{"rendered":"Assassin&#8217;s Creed Shadows parody game Yasuke Simulator to launch on same day as Ubisoft&#8217;s title, complete with \u201chistorically accurate\u201d GTA style mayhem\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>HistoryAccurateDevelopers have announced that they will be releasing <strong>Yasuke Simulator <\/strong>on Steam on March 20, the same day that Ubisoft is set to launch Assassin\u2019s Creed Shadows.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If it wasn\u2019t already obvious from the developer&#8217;s name and coinciding release date, Yasuke Simulator is a parody of Assassin\u2019s Creed Shadows and the controversies about historical and cultural accuracy that surround it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250218-44428-002.jpg\" alt=\"Assassins Creed Shadows Parody Yasuke Simulator\" class=\"wp-image-44432\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250218-44428-002.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250218-44428-002-380x214.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250218-44428-002-768x432.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the character models are noticeably lower poly than Ubisoft\u2019s AAA title, the lighting, landscapes and costumes look Assassin\u2019s Creed Shadows enough to potentially prompt Ubisoft\u2019s legal team to sit up and take notice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/video.cloudflare.steamstatic.com\/store_trailers\/257098612\/movie480_vp9.webm?t=1739566420\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>From the trailer and screenshots, Yasuke Simulator takes the complaints about Assassin\u2019s Creed Shadows and turns them up to 11. In the \u201chistorically accurate\u201d gameplay, Yasuke can pick up a modern assault rifle and even jump in a sports car, causing GTA-style destruction in feudal Japan. It seems the game will rank you based on number of kills and destroyed objects, echoing complaints about shrine interiors being destructible in Assassin&#8217;s Creed Shadows. Other absurd parts include dodging swinging daruma dolls.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250218-44428-004.jpg\" alt=\"Assassins Creed Shadows Parody Yasuke Simulator\" class=\"wp-image-44433\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250218-44428-004.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250218-44428-004-380x214.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250218-44428-004-768x432.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It seems that Yasuke Simulator will also pick up on more subtle complaints made about Assassin\u2019s Creed Shadows\u2019 accuracy issues. For example, the fences and torii gates in the image at the top of this article are way bigger than Yasuke, echoing complaints about the architecture being out of proportion in Assassin\u2019s Creed Shadows\u2019 first trailer.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250218-44428-header.jpg\" alt=\"Assassins Creed Shadows Parody Yasuke Simulator\" class=\"wp-image-44434\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250218-44428-header.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250218-44428-header-380x214.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250218-44428-header-768x432.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the very first images and trailers were released, Assassin\u2019s Creed Shadows has been widely criticized on social media for <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/assassins-creed-shadows-earns-ire-of-japanese-people-with-inaccurate-architecture-costumes-and-etiquette\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">inaccuracies<\/a> and issues relating to settings, costumes, architecture, etiquette and the <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/ubisoft-apology-for-stolen-imagery-in-assassins-creed-shadows-followed-by-further-call-for-revision-of-collectors-edition-artbook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">use of images without permission in concept art<\/a>. The description of one of the main characters, Yasuke, as a samurai has also caused controversy, because it is disputed as to whether the real person ever held such a title. In response, <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/assassins-creed-shadows-japanese-steam-page-drops-term-samurai-from-yasuke-description\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ubisoft recently removed<\/a> the word \u201csamurai\u201d from the Japanese Steam page descriptions of the game.
