The two companies are working on a live-action film adaptation of the <strong>Mobile Suit Gundam<\/strong> series.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tentatively titled GUNDAM, the Hollywood take on the long-running mecha series is directed and written by Jim Mickle, known for his work on Netflix\u2019s Sweet Tooth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In preparation for the new film\u2019s production and release, Bandai Namco will establish Bandai Namco Filmworks America, a new wholly owned subsidiary of Bandai Namco Holdings USA. The new company will begin operations as of April 1, 2025 and contribute towards the expansion and licensing of the Gundam brand outside of Japan (source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oricon.co.jp\/news\/2367525\/full\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Oricon News<\/a>).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"618\" height=\"947\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 618px) 100vw, 618px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250205-43759-header.jpg\" alt=\"Gundam live-action movie\" class=\"wp-image-43763\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250205-43759-header.jpg 618w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/20250205-43759-header-248x380.jpg 248w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>So far, the Gundam series has seen 25 TV anime series 34 theatrical and cinematic releases, 27 OVAs, and various specials.
