According to its forecasts, Capcom aims to sell a total of 13 million units of its new titles (games released between April 1, 2024 and March 31, 2025) by the end of the fiscal year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It goes without saying that Monster Hunter Wilds is expected to contribute to this figure greatly, but as Capcom has only achieved 1,911,000 new title units sold (14.7% of the target sales figure) during the first three quarters, the new Monster Hunter title and other Capcom games released during the fiscal year have a lot of catching up to do in the last quarter.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Capcom needs to sell 11,089,000 new title units by the end of March 2025 to meet their expected end sales figure (source: GameBiz<\/a>). This would help offset their net sales and operating profit decreases<\/a> from April to December 2024. While new titles like Dragon\u2019s Dogma 2<\/a> and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess<\/a> were released during this period, they couldn\u2019t compete with bigger Capcom franchises like Street Fighter, which saw its sixth entry release in 2023.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite newer releases not doing as well as their predecessors, Capcom\u2019s catalog titles like Monster Hunter: World and Monster Hunter World Rise have been selling better than the previous fiscal year (likely in anticipation of Monster Hunter Wilds\u2019 release). Monster Hunter: World\u2019s cumulative sales<\/a> currently number 28,123,000 units sold, with 2.79 million copies being sold during the fiscal year ending in March 2024. Monster Hunter Rise has currently sold 16,790,000 copies cumulatively, with 2.05 million copies sold during the same fiscal year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aside from Monster Hunter Wilds, the only two Capcom titles currently planned for 2025 are Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics\u202ffor the Xbox One and Capcom Fighting Collection 2 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. Considering both titles are fighting game compilations of classic games, it can be safe to say that Monster Hunter Wilds will be doing the bulk of the heavy lifting for Capcom\u2019s forecasted end sales figures for its new titles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
