Unlike many previous outfits, the new Cross the Line costume gives peach-haired Honoka a distinctively sharper and sexier look than usual. In a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.famitsu.com\/article\/202501\/31471\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">interview with Famitsu<\/a>, DOAXVV producer Yasunori Sakuda and freelance illustrator fubuki discussed why they decided to give Honoka a different look with the new outfit and how they went about it.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u3010DOAXVV\u3011\u30c8\u30a5\u30eb\u30fc\u30ab\u30e9\u30fc\u30a2\u30c3\u30d7\u30c7\u30fc\u30c8\u300c\u307b\u306e\u304b\u300d\u7d39\u4ecbPV\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bQ9AA3gZbKU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>First introduced to series fans in the fighting game Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, Honoka is a young student and self-taught martial artist. She has a sweet and easy-going personality, and her outfits tend to be on the cute side and sometimes have flower patterns.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Honoka also appears in the live service dating sim\/volleyball game Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation. Since its release in 2020, the developers have been regularly adding new outfits to the game, which can be won through its gacha system. Although Honoka has had some sexier costumes in the past like her secret agent costume and slightly edgy, goth-flavored Newcomer costume (both from DOA5: Last Round), the Cross the Line costume is a departure from her other outfits in DOAXVV.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"674\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250130-43431-003.jpg\" alt=\"Honoka DOAXVV new outfit\" class=\"wp-image-43447\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250130-43431-003.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250130-43431-003-380x213.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250130-43431-003-768x431.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Fubuki, the illustrator who designed the costume, recounts that Sakuda said, &#8220;We&#8217;re going to use Honoka&#8217;s well-endowed body to make the Owners suffer!&#8221; With this as the concept, fubuki explains that \u201cOur aim was to create a swimsuit which conveys the message\u00a0 that Honoka, with her gentle personality, has decided on her own accord to wear a sexy outfit because she has realized that she fancies the Owner (of the Venus Islands, i.e. the player).\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250130-43431-004.jpeg\" alt=\"Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation Honoka Cross the Line True Colors outfit\" class=\"wp-image-43451\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250130-43431-004.jpeg 1200w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250130-43431-004-380x214.jpeg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250130-43431-004-768x432.jpeg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Fubuki adds that they were also highly conscious of Honoka\u2019s Newcomer costume from DOA5: Last Round when designing her new TC outfit. \u201cI think it\u2019s so popular that it has almost become the default outfit (for DOA5 Honoka players). However, this is balanced out by cute details like the ribbons, and her flower-shaped earring and heart necklace.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"674\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250130-43431-002.jpg\" alt=\"DOAXVV True Colors outfit\" class=\"wp-image-43446\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250130-43431-002.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250130-43431-002-380x213.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250130-43431-002-768x431.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Honoka will also appear in standalone dating sim Venus Vacation Prism \u2013Dead or Alive Xtreme\u2013. Now <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/venus-vacation-prism-dead-or-alive-xtreme-gets-postponed-to-march-27\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">releasing on March 27<\/a>, the game has an offline, i<a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/venus-vacation-prism-gacha-free-system-rewards-you-for-making-its-6-girls-into-in-game-celebrities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">n-game system for earning outfits<\/a> to replace DOAXVV\u2019s gacha system. All of the pre-release images of Honoka in this game suggest that her outfits will be on the cuter side. Players will have to wait until Prism\u2019s release to see if they will get some sexier Honoka\u2019s costumes in that game too.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On a related note, despite Honoka getting a more mature look in DOAXVV, Koei Tecmo is highly protective of its Dead or Alive girls, and <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/theyre-like-daughters-to-us-around-3000-pieces-of-offensive-dead-or-alive-fanart-gets-removed-by-koei-tecmo-yearly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">regularly removes fanart that goes too far<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation is available now on PC (<a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/1361350\/DEAD_OR_ALIVE_Xtreme_Venus_Vacation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Steam<\/a>), depending on your region.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Venus Vacation Prism \u2013Dead or Alive Xtreme\u2013\u202fwill be released on PS4\/PS5 and PC (<a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/3155730\/Venus_Vacation_PRISM__DEAD_OR_ALIVE_Xtreme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Steam<\/a>) on March 27, 2025.\u202fAlthough it will have an official English release, you may have to <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/venus-vacation-prism-dead-or-alive-xtreme-gets-18-rating-in-some-regions-despite-lack-of-nudity-and-heres-why\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">import a physical copy depending on your region<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Honoka got a new True Colors outfit in DOAXVV recently.
