In the extended <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/articles\/interviewsjp\/finalfantasy-vii-rebirth-20250122-326124\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Japanese interview<\/a>, Hamaguchi explains how his logic-based approach makes sure that the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy sticks to its vision, while incorporating suitable feedback from the team and players.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1203\" height=\"675\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1203px) 100vw, 1203px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250123-43120-001.jpg\" alt=\"Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Sephiroth\" class=\"wp-image-43127\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250123-43120-001.jpg 1203w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250123-43120-001-380x213.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250123-43120-001-768x431.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With the original Final Fantasy VII being such a beloved classic, fans of the game have all kinds of opinions about what the remake trilogy should and shouldn\u2019t do. In the face of all this feedback and theories (including those <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/cloud-and-aerith-are-not-like-brother-and-sister-final-fantasy-vii-rebirths-director-speaks-out-about-misinterpretation-of-his-statement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">about Cloud and Aerith\u2019s relationship<\/a>), how does the development team decide what ideas to incorporate?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hamaguchi explains that although they gather opinions both from staff and players through test sessions, they have a policy that dictates what kind of feedback is considered for implementation into the trilogy. For example, Hamaguchi explains that \u201cIf our goal is A, and we get an opinion like \u2018I want B instead,\u2019 we can\u2019t do anything about it as it is just someone\u2019s preference. However, if we get an opinion like \u2018If you added B too, wouldn\u2019t it be even better?\u2019 then I\u2019ll think about incorporating it, if possible.\u201d In other words, feedback on elements that could improve the game are considered, but those that are based on individual preferences that don\u2019t align with the vision are not.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"505\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250123-43120-002.jpg\" alt=\"Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Aerith\" class=\"wp-image-43126\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250123-43120-002.jpg 900w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250123-43120-002-380x213.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/20250123-43120-002-768x431.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOnce I have decided on a concept or vision, I don\u2019t waver \u2013 that&#8217;s the kind of person I am. I think this is what enables me to continue the game\u2019s development in a relatively smooth manner.\u201d Hamaguchi explains, adding that \u201cI use logic to come up with answers. I don\u2019t just arrive at a single choice by coincidence, but rather there is a kind of accumulated reasoning behind everything. With promises of <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/final-fantasy-7-remake-team-wants-to-give-players-more-freedom-and-new-gameplay-in-the-trilogys-final-part\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">even more freedom<\/a>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/final-fantasy-7-remake-trilogy-ending-will-surpass-the-original-director-reveals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">story that ties up all the loose ends<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/final-fantasy-7-remake-option-to-speed-up-cutscenes-led-to-an-increase-in-players-says-director\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">time-saving functions<\/a> and of course, more <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/final-fantasy-7-remake-a-revamped-version-of-queens-blood-is-on-the-cards-for-the-trilogys-last-part-director-suggests\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Queen\u2019s Blood<\/a>, fans have got a lot to look forward to.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For now, Final Fantasy VII Remake (PS4\/PS5 and PC) and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (PS5 and PC) are available now.
