Krafton announced on January 8 that it established a new office in Tokyo for its Tango Gameworks subsidiary on January 1. This marks the start of Tango Gameworks\u2019 rebirth and resumption of full-scale activities (as reported by 4Gamer<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally founded by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami in 2010<\/a>, Tango Gameworks is known for The Evil Within series, Hi-Fi Rush and Ghostwire: Tokyo. Soon after its establishment, Tango Gameworks was acquired by ZeniMax, becoming a subsidiary of ZeniMax Asia K.K. Then in 2021, it became part of Microsoft, whose seemingly sudden decision to close the studio last year shocked industry professionals and gamers alike<\/a>. However, in August 2024, just two months after Tango Gameworks shut down, South Korean publisher Krafton (known for PUBG) took over the studio<\/a>, with plans to revive it.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On January 1, the studio announced on X<\/a> that it had been renamed to Tango Gameworks Inc. As well as re-employing some former staff, it is also recruiting new personnel for various positions. Recent comments<\/a> from Tango Gameworks\u2019 new studio head Colin Mack, creative director John Johanas and development director Kazuaki Egashira suggest that the developer will still have the freedom to create unique new IP and games, with the might of Krafton enabling the studio to grow bigger than before. \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
