Players must successfully spot anomalies in their surroundings in order to reach the&nbsp;titular Exit 8. First released on Steam in November 2023, the game became <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/20240214-27192\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a huge surprise hit<\/a>. It has since been ported to the Nintendo Switch and PS4\/PS5. The game also received a follow-up, <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/indie-games\/the-exit-8-creator-releases-official-sequel-platform-8\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Platform 8.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u3010\u6620\u753b\u300e\uff18\u756a\u51fa\u53e3\u300f\u3011\u5168\u4e16\u754c\u5411\u3051 \u6620\u753b\u5316\u767a\u8868\u6620\u50cf \uff1c2025\u5e74\u516c\u958b\uff1e\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/05gfeo6Ipmg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Toho has released a teaser trailer for The Exit 8 movie, showing us the real-life recreation of the game\u2019s&nbsp;passageways. The Exit 8\u2019s iconic middle-aged salaryman, who has become somewhat of a symbol of the game (as well <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/20231215-24508\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">as a thirst-trap, for some people<\/a>), also appears in the trailer. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The game\u2019s developer shared his delight at the announcement. \u201cWhen I released the game in November 2023, I had no idea that about one year later it would be made into a film. I am filled with surprise and gratitude.\u201d Kotake Create commented. \u201cWhen I first heard about it, I wondered how a game with no story could be made into a film, however I think it has turned out to be an interesting movie that maintains the worldview and atmosphere&nbsp;of The Exit 8.\u201d The developer also mentions visiting the set and how cool it was to see the game recreated in real life. \u201cI hope you are all looking forward to it! I am really looking forward to the movie\u2019s release too!\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Exit 8 movie is scheduled to be released in Japan in 2025.
