Most recently, this wave seems to have reached even adult entertainment for women, such as boys\u2019 love doujinshi and erotic audio dramas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On December 10, pictSPACE, a boys&#8217; love doujin platform, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/pictspacenet\/status\/1866298861473735069\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a> that it will no longer be able to receive payment via Visa and Mastercard starting January 1, 2025. The platform was contacted by its payment agency, which has a collective contract with each credit card brand, and informed that these two options would be suspended. The suspension applies specifically to the platform\u2019s \u201cFor Adult Women\u201d category.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this month, the president of Visa\u2019s Japanese subsidiary Cietan Kitney <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/visa-japans-ceo-says-disabling-card-payment-for-legal-adult-content-is-necessary-to-protect-the-brand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">confirmed<\/a> that the company considers it \u201cnecessary\u201d to occasionally suspend payment in order to \u201cprotect the brand\u201d of Visa, even if the content in question is legal.
