Elin, the official prequel to Lafrontier\u2019s classic JRPG Elona<\/strong>, now has a free trial demo to go alongside the game\u2019s early access version on Steam<\/a>. While the demo limits players in certain aspects, these restrictions pale in comparison to the amount of content available.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Elin<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Elin demo only allows players to go up to 10 feat points (the game\u2019s version of levels). Bases also have a level cap of 3, preventing them from being upgraded any further. Lastly, network features are disabled, though this shouldn\u2019t matter much in a single-player-only game.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a mix of roguelike and fixed RPG elements, Elin took Steam by storm<\/a> when it launched on November 1, 2024. It momentarily surpassed Capcom\u2019s Monster Hunter Wilds as the platform\u2019s most-purchased game in Japan and currently has an all-time peak player count of 18,239 people (via SteamDB<\/a>). <\/strong>This marks a strong first month for the game and with updates on the way that include new quests, fixes, and content, Elin is poised to have a very good end to 2024 and a promising 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
