The arrest was made on the grounds of copyright law infringement, as the three men are suspected of posting anime digests, snapshots and transcripts for commercial gain.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the titles mentioned in the case was Overlord, and on November 12, the production committee of the Overlord anime (the companies that funded and own it) published a follow-up letter to fans, which is perhaps meant to address concerns raised by people following the news of the arrest (reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itmedia.co.jp\/news\/articles\/2411\/12\/news134.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ITmedia)<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"ja\" dir=\"ltr\">\u30aa\u30fc\u30d0\u30fc\u30ed\u30fc\u30c9\u88fd\u4f5c\u59d4\u54e1\u4f1a\u304b\u3089\u306e\u304a\u77e5\u3089\u305b <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zw0eHnoYBU\">pic.twitter.com\/zw0eHnoYBU<\/a><\/p>&mdash; \u30aa\u30fc\u30d0\u30fc\u30ed\u30fc\u30c9\uff0f\u30a2\u30cb\u30e1\u516c\u5f0f (@over_lord_anime) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/over_lord_anime\/status\/1856139855006445780?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 12, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the statement, Overlord\u2019s production committee clarify that they are not attempting to go after anime fan sites nor stop fans from engaging in discussions, analysis, predictions and fanart creation.
