Kadokawa Corporation, the primary owner of FromSoftware, published its earnings report<\/a> for the second quarter of the fiscal year (June-September 2024). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company saw its video game sector grow significantly compared to last year, with net sales being up 10.9% year-on-year, and operating profit rising by 27.6%. Sales exceeded 10 billion yen for the first time since April-June 2022 (according to GameBiz<\/a>), which was incidentally the quarter following Elden Ring\u2019s initial release. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kadokawa\u2019s report for the second quarter of the fiscal year highlights<\/a> strong domestic and global sales of Elden Ring and its new Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, which drove the performance of the entire business sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Going forward, FromSoftware\u2019s parent company plans to expand its development pipeline as well as the scope of its in-house publishing of PC and console games.
