\u201cA Cruel Angel\u2019s Thesis\u201d from the hit anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion<\/strong>, is one of anime\u2019s most famous opening themes and a popular song to belt out at karaoke in Japan. However, one of the creators behind the iconic tune recently surprised fans by revealing that, even after almost 30 years, she still hasn\u2019t watched the anime.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The creator in question is Neko Oikawa, who wrote the philosophy-inspired lyrics for the song. In a post<\/a> on her personal X account today, Oikawa expressed surprise that it is 29 years since A Cruel Angel\u2019s Thesis was released on October 25, 1995. Since then, \u201cmany people have listened to it, covered it and it has become a top karaoke song,\u201d she commented. After thanking everyone who has enjoyed the song and continues to love Neon Genesis Evangelion, she revealed that she has never actually watched the anime, adding a simple \u201cI\u2019m sorry.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funnily enough, many people replied to her saying that they love the song but have also never seen Neon Genesis Evangelion. This just shows how Cruel Angel\u2019s Thesis has become an enduring hit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
