The promo, featuring Japanese comedian AMEMIYA singing dramatically, may have some viewers scratching their heads. In fact, the video riffs on the original Romancing SaGa 2\u2019s notorious reputation in Japan for being a hardcore RPG, with an amusing song highlighting the remake\u2019s improvements.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" src=\"http:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241017-38491-001.jpg\" alt=\"Romancing Saga 2 Revenge of the Seven remake party\" class=\"wp-image-38495\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241017-38491-001.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241017-38491-001-380x214.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241017-38491-001-768x432.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The song in question is a parody of AMEMIYA\u2019s breakout hit \u201cHiyashi Chuka hajimemashita\u201d (I\u2019ve started serving cold ramen). Hiyashi Chuka (literally \u201ccold Chinese food\u201d) is a refreshing chilled version of ramen. This phrase is often seen on the sign boards of Chinese restaurants in Japan at the start of summer. In AMEMIYA\u2019s original song- which is in itself a parody of overwrought dramatic ballads- the singer plays the role of a ramen shop owner who only managed to serve Hiyashi Chuka in his ramen shop on December 20, by which time it is way out of season. In the song, he goes through all kinds of hardships and bad luck (his wife leaves him, he becomes the victim of fraud etc.), punctuating each verse with an increasingly distraught \u201cHiyashi Chuka hajimemashita.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u3010\u30ed\u30de\u30b5\u30ac2\u30ea\u30e1\u30a4\u30af\u3011\u30ab\u30b8\u30e5\u30a2\u30eb\u30e2\u30fc\u30c9\u306f\u3058\u3081\u307e\u3057\u305f\" width=\"1160\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WW1hIfj8RzQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Romancing SaGa 2 Revenge of the Seven promotional video, AMEMIYA sings a brand-new version of the song called \u201cCasual Mode hajimemashita\u201d (I started casual mode). In the song, AMEMIYA recalls tough memories of playing the original Romancing SaGa 2, always dramatically returning to the refrain \u201cI started casual mode.\u201d This references <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/reviews\/romancing-saga-2-revenge-of-the-seven-preview-5-pleasant-discoveries-remake\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the new difficulty modes added to the remake<\/a>, which players can switch between mid-game.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of his laments will be familiar to anyone who has struggled with tricky games- such as \u201cI saved just before the last boss and now I\u2019m stuck.\u201d Other lyrics are more specific to the original Romancing SaGa 2, for example \u201cevery time I escape battles, the enemies get outrageously strong.\u201d (Fortunately, the <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/romancing-saga-2-revenge-of-the-seven-will-keep-its-powerful-enemies-but-running-away-wont-make-them-progressively-stronger-producer-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">producer revealed that this won\u2019t be an issue in the remake<\/a>).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" src=\"http:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241017-38491-002.jpg\" alt=\"Romancing Saga 2 remake battle against Kzinssie\" class=\"wp-image-38497\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241017-38491-002.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241017-38491-002-380x214.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241017-38491-002-768x432.jpg 768w\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>The boss battle against the first of the Seven, Kzinssie of Solomon.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Later in the song, AMEMIYA reminds die-hard fans that Romancing SaGa 2 remake also has a hard mode that is \u201ctrue to the original.\u201d As the original game was only released in Japan, the remake will be most overseas fans first experience with Romancing SaGa 2.
