While these ads are meant to showcase the chibi pixel renditions of popular Demon Slayer characters like Zenitsu, Nezuko, and Giyu within MapleStory, people noticed something rather strange about <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/20231006-22124\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">protagonist Tanjiro<\/a>\u2019s sprite:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"ja\" dir=\"ltr\">\u306a\u3093\u3067\u3053\u308c\u304a\u3057\u308a\u4e38\u51fa\u3057\u306a\u306e\uff1f <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qeZCn3OAhV\">https:\/\/t.co\/qeZCn3OAhV<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Tack (@Tack_maple) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Tack_maple\/status\/1839153091758927961?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 26, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>Post translation:<\/strong><em> Why is his butt exposed?<\/em>\u00a0<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Tanjiro\u2019s sprite is supposed to show the juxtaposition between the character\u2019s cheerful personality and deadly nature (as exemplified by him holding his Nichirin katana in a battle pose). Unfortunately, his round hands are positioned in such a way that they could be mistaken for his butt. Since Tanjiro\u2019s hands are supposed to be closer to the viewer, they are much larger when compared to the rest of his body; making it easy to ass-ume they are something else.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As is expected with anything butt-related, people were quick to poke fun at Tanjiro\u2019s supposed behind on social media. Replies range from an <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/itk_honey1225\/status\/1839849405463089172\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">easily misinterpreted Hitmonchan sprite from Pok\u00e9mon<\/a> (which can be mistaken for a squatting Doduo) to<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/tehetehe777\/status\/1839854423302123581\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> jokes about what kind of game MapleStory is<\/a>. Some even created fanart of the advertisement; transforming Tanjiro\u2019s sprite into <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/sagami_sagari\/status\/1839573530381545781\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a full-blown character image<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It doesn\u2019t take much to jump to the conclusion that Tanjiro is mooning viewers of the MapleStory ad, as it quickly becomes something you can\u2019t unsee.
