{"id":37325,"date":"2024-09-19T18:23:33","date_gmt":"2024-09-19T09:23:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/?p=37325"},"modified":"2024-09-19T18:35:07","modified_gmt":"2024-09-19T09:35:07","slug":"palworld-addresses-lawsuit-filed-by-nintendo-and-the-pokemon-company","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/palworld-addresses-lawsuit-filed-by-nintendo-and-the-pokemon-company\/","title":{"rendered":"Palworld addresses lawsuit filed by Nintendo and The Pok\u00e9mon Company\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>PocketPair has<strong> <\/strong>issued a statement addressing the <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/nintendo-and-the-pokemon-company-file-lawsuit-against-pocketpair-palworld\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lawsuit<\/a> filed against <strong>Palworld<\/strong> by Nintendo and The Pok\u00e9mon Company.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the morning of September 19th, Nintendo and The Pok\u00e9mon Company announced that they were seeking an injunction against Palworld for infringing multiple patents, as well as compensation for damages. The lawsuit was filed over patents, not copyrights or trademarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pocketpair.jp\/news\/news16\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a> by PocketPair, the indie developer has received notice of the patent infringement lawsuit and is preparing to take necessary steps and legal proceedings. It seems that much like the rest of us, the Palworld developer has not yet been informed about which specific patents they are being accused of infringing. The company will investigate the claims once they receive the complaint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the shocking news of the lawsuit, it seems PocketPair has no plans to discontinue Palworld and will stay devoted to the game and its players: \u201cWe will continue improving Palworld and strive to create a game that our fans can be proud of.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the statement mentions that it\u2019s \u201ctruly unfortunate that we will be forced to allocate significant time to matters unrelated to game development due to this lawsuit.
