{"id":36565,"date":"2024-09-05T15:45:14","date_gmt":"2024-09-05T06:45:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/?p=36565"},"modified":"2024-09-05T15:45:16","modified_gmt":"2024-09-05T06:45:16","slug":"chrono-trigger-composer-yasunori-mitsuda-to-return-for-sea-of-stars-dlc-soundtrack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/chrono-trigger-composer-yasunori-mitsuda-to-return-for-sea-of-stars-dlc-soundtrack\/","title":{"rendered":"Chrono Trigger composer Yasunori Mitsuda to return for Sea of Stars DLC soundtrack\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Yasunori Mitsuda, known for his musical compositions in the <em>Chrono<\/em> and<em> Xeno<\/em> series as well as other games and anime, announced on his<a href=\"https:\/\/www.procyon-studio.co.jp\/news\/2024\/0827.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> company website<\/a> that he would collaborate once again with Sabotage Studio on the soundtrack for the upcoming<em> <\/em>Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker DLC, set to launch in 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mitsuda previously worked with the Canadian game studio to compose several tracks featured in<em> <\/em>Sea of Stars<em>.<\/em> The 2023 retro-style RPG is heavily inspired by classics of the 90\u2019s, including <em>Chrono Trigger,<\/em> for which Mitsuda composed most of the music.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1184\" height=\"664\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1184px) 100vw, 1184px\" src=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/20240905-36565-001.jpg\" alt=\" Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker DLC\" class=\"wp-image-36573\" srcset=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/20240905-36565-001.jpg 1184w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/20240905-36565-001-380x213.jpg 380w, https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/20240905-36565-001-768x431.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/1-ZB-IX-sfc?feature=shared\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">promotional video<\/a> recorded for Sabotage Studio, Mitsuda said that he was \u201ca big fan of their previous work, <em>The Messenger<\/em>,\u201d and that he couldn\u2019t believe that they wanted him to join the project. Both Mitsuda and Eric Brown, the main composer of <em>Sea of Stars<\/em>, strove to create a cohesive soundtrack while also cultivating Mitsuda\u2019s trademark style of music, including tracks that hearkened back to the sounds of the SNES.
