During Nintendo\u2019s 84th<\/sup> Annual General Shareholders\u2019 Meeting, the company\u2019s CEO Shuntaro Furukawa addressed concerns regarding potential resale and scarcity of the upcoming Nintendo Switch successor.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the shareholders\u2019 Q&A session report<\/a> published by Nintendo on July 1, when asked about what measures Nintendo will be taking to prevent the resale of their new console, Furukawa explained that production of the Nintendo Switch in the past two years was impacted by the semiconductor shortage, making it difficult to meet demand. However, Furukawa notes that this situation has been resolved, and that Nintendo does not expect component or material shortages to impact the Switch\u2019s successor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furukawa comments that the most important countermeasure in preventing resale of the Nintendo Switch\u2019s successor will be ensuring that production quantities keep up with customer demand. In addition, the CEO mentions that the company is looking into possible legal ways to counter resale, taking into account each region\u2019s circumstances. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
