Recently he took a strong stance against harassment in online games, explaining that such toxic behavior shouldn\u2019t be seen as normal nor something players should get used to.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The discussion kicked off when a post by Tekken player maydaysix caught Harada\u2019s attention. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adl.org\/resources\/report\/hate-no-game-hate-and-harassment-online-games-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a> by the Anti-Defamation League indicated that in the US alone, 76% of adults and 3 in 4 teenagers experienced harassment when playing online games in 2023. Players of online games usually go in with the expectation that they are going to encounter a certain level of harassment at some point, with some even thinking that it is each user\u2019s responsibility to develop a \u201cthick skin\u201d before gaming online. However, Harada seems to be strongly against normalizing such toxic behavior with his belief that abusive comments should not be seen as \u201caverage\u201d for online gaming.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tekken 8 does allow players to block or report other users, which can be done by viewing your opponent\u2019s profile after a match and selecting the appropriate option. The game\u2019s director Kohei Ikeda clarified how blocking works back in February, explaining that <a href=\"https:\/\/automaton-media.com\/en\/news\/20240221-27525\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">blocking a player prevents you from being matched with them again<\/a>.
